Twitter has become quite popular and this popularity is expected to grow exponentially over the next few years. I’m on twitter and most of My friends are as well. I’ve also made a whole host of new friends there, as well. It’s home for many and just like with anything else, we like to customize our home pages. Twitter does allow us to add a little blurb and a link about ourselves. But that is extremely rudimentary. Many twitter users (tweople, or tweeps) like to add more information about themselves in the background graphic. In fact, this can actually be quite a good way of promoting one’s self or business(es). Heck, you can even promote your dog, cat or desk chair on twitter this way.

As a very happy Twitterer (or Twit …LOL), and as a web designer, I started playing with how to use my Twitter profile page in order to advertise and market my services. It’s actually quite a challenge because there are so many different screen reolutions that people surf the web with, and Twitter is extremely basic and functional with very few configuration options.
I hope you will be happy with what I have found. I expect to offer lots of full screen backdrops as well as some tiling backdrops, eventually. I also plan on writing a couple of tutorialsso that others can use what I have learned to thier advantage.
